Here's some of my print work

  • My English Passport - teaching aid

    • The challenge:

I taught English in Japan for two years. Eigo no kyoushi deshita. I wanted to engage the kids, structure myself and plan ahead.

    • The solution:

I created an ‘English passport’. Every English class, the kids would add another page to their book. It became a reference and a motivational tool. Completing a task rewarded you with a stamp.

    • What went well:

The kids loved it. Stamps were like crack to them, and it made lessons easier for me. I could create age appropriate lessons for the different year groups, all with a common theme.

    • What didn't:

I made adding pages as simple as possible—fold, cut two holes, string together—but some of the smallest kids would struggle a bit.
